Consumers, developers beware. MacBundleBox, VoteBundle and Christian Owens is a scam…
December 4th, 2010 by KenIn August 2010 VoteBundle.com was launched by Christian Owens, the same guy who brings you the MacBundleBox. YummySoup! was included along with 9 other apps as part of a bundle. After the VoteBundle concluded Christian informed the developers that they would be paid by September 1st. Once September rolled around Christian completely ignored all emails from developers. A week later Christian emails us informing us that all payments have been initiated. He later retracted that statement stating that he wasn’t yet paid by MacZOT which turned out to be completely false. I contacted Jesus Diaz of Gizmodo.com since he ran a story about Christian not that long ago. Jesus gathered information from all the developers and tried to get in contact with Christian. As soon as Christian found out Jesus of Gizmodo was involved he promptly sent payment to a few of the developers, myself included. To this day he still owes me $137.04. He again promised that all developers would be paid in full within one week (end of Sept). Since that last promises Christian hasn’t responded to a single email from any of the developers. To this day he still owes the developers from the VoteBundle.com $9,781.08.
Christian is a self proclaimed millionaire on his self published Wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_Owens
This kid is a scam artist. He hyped up his VoteBundle offerings with estimates that were way over exaggerated and didn’t even meet 1% of his projected sales. If he had anywhere near his claimed wealth he wouldn’t have had a problem paying the developers that made him the money in the first place.
Consumers, don’t be surprised one day if you buy something from Christian Owens, and the license is revoked because the developer never got paid. Developers, don’t trust this guy, chances are you won’t get paid. Developers and consumers, don’t give this guy your money, he’s a worthless pirate.
Just to let everyone know all VoteBundle licenses for YummySoup! are and always will be valid no matter the end result of Christian Owens actions.
